At 7:30 PM on April 23, the launch ceremony for the 12th Ba People's Cultural Arts Festival was held at the Ba Zhou Theatre. The event was hosted by the Ba Zhong Municipal Committee and Government, was themed"Ba People's Ba Feng · Meeting in Ba Zhong."

At the launch ceremony, the Large-scale modern Sichuan opera"Yan Yangchu" first premiered as a specialized cultural performance of this art festival.

Yan Yangchu was the"Father of civilian Education in the world" who emerged from Bazhong. The year 2025 is the 135th anniversary of Yan Yangchu's birth. In memory of this educator of civilian education and pioneer of rural construction, the Bazhong Municipal Government, Bazhong Prefectural Government, Sichuan Provincial Sichuan Opera Theatre and related units jointly created and produced the large-scale modern Sichuan Opera"Yan Yangchu". This opera was centered around Yan Yangchu's tough experience of promoting civilian education as its main line, and is divided into seven chapters:"Asking Heaven","Encouraging Learning","Welcoming New arrivals","Returning Home","Keeping Heart","Crying for Porcelain","Restoring Soul". It uses narrative techniques such as"Straight to the point","Hidden Threads in the Snake(Chinese idiom, meaning that something leaves faint clues and signs that can be vaguely traced.)","Back roll the bead curtain(Chinese idiom, meaning to use movement to imply stillness and express something implicitly.)", and"The Illusion of Characters", artistically recreating the vivid scenes of organizing the Civilian Education Association and participating in the anti-Japanese salvation movement. It shows Yan Yangchu's civilian education thoughts of taking the world as his responsibility and his profound and rich sentiments for the country and the nation under the revolutionary flames.

After making its debut at the 12th Ba People's Culture and Art Festival on April 23rd, this play will also conduct domestic tours in cities such as Chengdu, Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao, and conduct cultural exchange performances abroad in countries like Malaysia, Thailand and France.

In recent years, Bazhong City has been committed to promoting systematic protection of Ba culture heritage, comprehensively promoting archaeological investigations of Ba culture ruins and the Micang Ancient Road, and solidly promoting the application for the World Heritage status of the Sichuan Road (Micang Road). It has deeply implemented the project of creating high-quality cultural works, with the Sichuan Yangqin operas"Sichuan Road" and"Expecting" winning the highest national government award for mass cultural,the"Group Star Award", and the highest award for Chinese folk art forms,the"Peony Award"."Chasing Dreams" was selected as the only work from Sichuan Province to be showcased at the Central Opera House in December last year. At the same time, a large-scale modern Sichuan Opera"Yan Yangchu" was actively cultivating new tourism and cultural industries such as"Traveling with Performances","Traveling with Competitions", and"Traveling with Festivals", and promoting the deep integration of agriculture, industry, commerce, culture, tourism and sports. Highlight the empowerment brought by technology, a national-level science popularization audio-visual base was laid out and put into operation in Enyang Ancient Town, and the first National Youth Science Popularization Audio-Visual Conference was held, promoting the mutual enrichment of excellent traditional and modern cultures.

It is reported that during this year's Ba People's Culture and Art Festival, a series of distinctive activities will be held, including the"Ancient Road New Rhythms" -"Four Niche Fu City" Cultural Tourism IP Release Conference, the performance of the large-scale Science fiction stage play"Fantasy · Micang Road", the large-scale photography, fine arts and calligraphy works exhibition, the"Ba People's Footprints in China" All-media Action, the investment promotion and opportunity list release, and the"Festive Songs of Ba Mountain" Outstanding Mass Artistic Works Performance Exhibition. This art festival will last until April 25th.
